Jersey International Business School

HISTORY

Jersey International Business School are a leading provider of training and education in International Financial Centres.

They deliver a wide range of professional qualifications and career-development courses which meet international standards.

Their main focus is on the financial services industry although they also deliver more generalist courses and offer online learning.

The school is the exclusive provider in Jersey of International Compliance Association qualifications and Central Law Training programmes which lead to the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners qualification. They also deliver training awarded by the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) and offer in-company training and online e-learning solutions to organisations internationally.

JIBS deliver a 2-year degree in BSc (Hons) International Financial Services in Jersey, accredited by the University of Buckingham.

The independent school operates from a central location in the Weighbridge and was established in 2009 to provide high-quality and effective training and education in Investment Business, Trust and Company Management, Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering, Financial Crime Prevention and Leadership and Management.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

If the student is a UK (including Channel Islands and Isle of Man) or EU citizen it is eligible for UK and EU fee status. The student will not need to apply for a Visa to study in Jersey.

If the student doesn`t qualify for the UK and EU fee status it will be eligible for Rest-of-world fee status. It  will need to apply for a UK Border Agency Visa to study in Jersey. There is no requirement in Jersey to have a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number in order to be accepted onto their study programmes. The Mentoring Scheme is designed to provide students with access to top finance professionals who have immense practical experience in their chosen fields. The aim of the Scheme is that mentors and students meet on a regular basis, at mutually convenient times. These sessions are likely to include personal support, experience in handling decisions, career progression, networking events and introductions to appropriate and relevant contacts, as and when required. The student will receive valuable guidance on their career development in the lead-up to graduation and their search for graduate employment.
