Foundation Studies in the UK
University Foundation Courses prepare international students to access bachelor’s degree programmes at UK universities. They are intensive programmes of academic subjects, study skills and English language training. Courses last one year and usually provide guaranteed entry to selected bachelor’s degree courses at certain universities.
The Foundation provides a bridge between international high school and UK university. You receive a good grounding in your chosen subjects, as well as learning study skills and research methods that you will need at university.

To study a University Foundation Course, you will need good high school grades, equivalent to 5 GCSEs (A* – C). You will also need a minimum English level of IELTS 4.5 (or equivalent).
