Course details

We’ve developed this course for students who have not completed a traditional foundation course or who are not quite ready to go on to First Year degree study, but who know which subject they wish to take. You’ll gain the fundamental knowledge, critical awareness and practical skills which are essential for all Arts students.

Classes you will attend

  • Learn about different digital formats, camera sensor sizes and the impact of lens choices, data rates and recording media, broadcast requirements, digital workflows as well as the fundamental concepts of cinematography.

  • Explore the potential of a large format digital camera to deliver visual storytelling options such as differential focus and the sought-after shallow depth of field look.

Entry requirements

A LEVEL

Must include passes at A2 in at least 1 subject

BTEC

Extended Diploma (QCF) or Diploma (QCF)

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE

Diploma with 24 points including a minimum of 15 points at Higher Level

We would normally expect you to have Grade C in GCSE English and maths
