Foundation Programs
Animation
We have developed this course for students who have not completed a traditional foundation course or who are not quite ready to go on to First Year degree study, but who know which course they wish to undertake. You will gain the fundamental knowledge, critical awareness and practical skills which are essential for all Arts students.
Bio-sciences (International)
The International Foundation Program (IFP) has been specifically designed to prepare international students for academic study on a wide range of our undergraduate degree programs. The International Foundation Program offers a guaranteed place on an undergraduate degree program at Kent upon successful completion. The program provides a series of academic content modules in addition to modules in English for Academic Purposes (EAP) and Academic Skills. If you pass the International Foundation Program and meet the rules of progression, you will have all the qualifications that you need in order to continue your studies at degree level. As the International Foundation Program contains its own language training module, you will not need to take an additional English language examination such as IELTS. The International Foundation Program takes place at the University of Kent, and students are full members of the University with access to University accommodation.
Business and Management (International)
The International Foundation in Business and Economics with Accounting prepares international students for direct entry to year one of an Undergraduate degree course within the Sir John Cass Business School, City University London. By combining academic study, intensive English language preparation, study skills and cultural orientation, the International Foundation program prepares students with the academic English language and study skills needed for university success. Students will study compulsory modules including Academic English, Foundation Mathematics and Study Skills. These modules introduce students to the academic conventions used within UK universities; all the key mathematical concepts needed to study the first year of an Undergraduate degree program, and allows students to develop study skills that are essential to degree study, including time management and critical thinking.
Data Science
This is a one year preparatory course that allows you to progress to a degree in an engineering or technology subject if you do not already have the appropriate qualifications. This course is academically challenging and vocationally orientated and will provide you with a range of knowledge, experience and skills. You will study core modules in technological subjects and specialist modules relevant to your choice of degree.
Film Production
We have developed this course for students who have not completed a traditional foundation course or who are not quite ready to go on to First Year degree study, but who know which course they wish to undertake. You will gain the fundamental knowledge, critical awareness and practical skills which are essential for all Arts students.
Health and Social Care
This may be an ideal course if you want a preparatory period of study before progressing onto a degree in a range of health and care subjects. Essential academic skills are embedded into all the work to ensure you are able to excel in future learning. The foundation course is also useful if you have the academic ability to succeed at degree-level study, but do not have the appropriate subject background knowledge. The course will also enable you to apply for a range of degree courses, such as nursing, social work, occupational therapy. Therefore, successful completion of all modules in this course means you can progress onto year one of your chosen degree, when you will meet the entry requirement.
Humanities (International)

Journalism (International)

Students will study compulsory modules including Academic English, Foundation Mathematics and Study Skills.

Mathematics
This foundation year will help you develop the knowledge you need to progress to any of our mathematics and statistics BSc degrees. This is a full-time program of study covering core mathematics and statistics topics, including differential calculus, complex numbers and problem solving skills. Successful completion of the Foundation Year leads to guaranteed progression to Stage 1 of one of our BSc degrees.
Photography

You’ll gain the fundamental knowledge, critical awareness and practical skills which are essential for all Arts students.
Social Sciences
The International Foundation Program takes place at the University of Kent, and students are full members of the University with access to University accommodation and all academic, welfare, social and sport facilities on campus. The University of Kent has been offering international foundation programs for over 20 years. The Program is taught by highly qualified University of Kent tutors and leads to a range of degree programs in the Social Sciences and including pathways to Law and Business.
Three-Dimensional Animation

The Year Zero route provides a smooth transition to degree courses in the Arts disciplines at the University. This course is the first stage of a Bachelor’s Degree – it is not a standalone course. Following the successful completion of the year you’ll then progress on to the first year of your chosen degree. You’ll gain the fundamental knowledge, critical awareness and practical skills which are essential for all Arts students. Our emphasis is on building your confidence and fostering your creative potential. Supported by a dedicated team of professional staff, you’ll learn in a stimulating studio environment where you can explore and experiment with materials, processes and ideas.
